Colin and Teresa Pielow were the chef proprietors of two successful restaurants in Ireland. Both restaurants gained wide critical acclaim and were listed in several top guide books including the Bridgestone 100 best Restaurants in Ireland, Michelin Red Book Guide & Georgina Campbell's Jameson Guide. They were regularly featured in local and national publications, receiving glowing reviews from the Irish Food & Wine Magazine, Sunday Independent Newspaper, Inside Cork and Cork Now Magazine.
Their passion for wine and food brought them to South Africa, where they settled in the beautiful Tulbagh valley in the Cape Winelands. In coming to South Africa, they bring with them a wealth of talent and experience. Their new restaurant Pielow’s is of the same high standard as their previous establishments, creating a gourmet experience in the heart of Tulbagh.
The menu is determined according to the finest, locally-sourced, fresh produce and will therefore change with the seasons.
Pielow’s restaurant occupies a beautiful old building which they share with De Oude Herberg, a delightful four star guesthouse. The building itself is situated in the historic Church Street and has been declared a National Monument.
